When photographing polished metal, reducing flash power makes a distracting reflection darker, but does not move it. Its position depends on the relationship between the light source, the product surface and the camera. Start with a fixed camera position and move one light at a time. Watch how the reflection travels across the product before adjusting exposure. On curved objects, different sections can reflect different parts of the studio. Disclosure: I’m part of the team behind Flaşçı. The linked guide explains reflection angles and is written in Turkish; the main practical point is summarized above. How do you usually control unwanted softbox reflections on curved metal? |

The best solution I've found is cross-polarisation. |
