I was curious about the source of the photo and looked it up. Seems to be from this ABC story about rodenticide. As soon as I saw "masked owl," things made much more sense. I knew the Aussie and Tassie ones are the big guys, but I don't think I've seen one next to a human before, so I couldn't picture the difference. The Tasmanian one is even larger than this. |

They like their owls big down there.
That's good, because I don't think owls like that would give them much choice in the matter! 😁 You don't want to open your front door and see this guy and his buddy the Powerful Owl standing there waiting for you. |
