Holy shit, that's a real tweet...

The only good thing about the Epic Games store is that it doesn't/didn't force you to update. I haven't updated the launcher in years.

My entire Epic library is from their weekly free games. I also have only installed maybe two or three, then bought them on Steam or GOG.

Epic is launchermaxxing.

Steam continues to enforce their near monopoly by simply not screwing up as much as the competition.

One thing that i like about epic, is that it allows using third party launcher for downloading, installing and playing games. Compared to steam, where every game must be downloaded through official client, and some games just does not work without steam running in the background.

On pc, there are many good games being given away for free. I played some of them, but most are just not interesting to me.

On android, epic is actually epic, as the only other alternative is play store, which is just gacha and unity asset flips. And it also works degoogled.

Maybe Steam should make their Game Engine free, public, and open source?

If steam could have been faster all along, why’d they wait to implement it?

Does this assume Valve doesn't use AI for development?

It's like the console wars but way stupider.

There’s using AI for development, and then there’s proudly announcing that 100% of your product is vibecoded (which is what Epic did)

There's also the universal constant that Tim Sweeney is a piss baby. Gabe is only favored because everyone else is a shit.

It's not like they've banned Godot from their store.
