Rachel Tomlinson, speaking on behalf of the Fairness for All coalition, discussed how this initiative was funded by a $3.1 million donation from a political action committee. She also said there was no need for this initiative to be on the ballot in the first place. In 2025 Nebraska passed a law banning transgender athletes and there were only a few transgender athletes that were competing under NSAA regulations. Tomlinson also said if this initiative passes, it might force schools to do invasive checks on students. “If this passes, schools are very likely to institute invasive and embarrassing gender check requirements for any girl joining her school sports team in order to avoid potential liability for a constitutional violation,” she said. |
