Theme: Sweetest Day - Gemütlichkeit may be my only gourmand. Unfortunately,I don't have the EdP to go with it.

Oatmeal chocolate chip cookies and sugar roasted chestnuts served with a cup of steaming coffee. A warm, super gourmand scent perfect for cold winter evenings by the fire - or anytime you want to remember them.

Special Challenge: Plant Something - I didn't plant this today or recently. It's been growing for about 10 years. It started as two leaves. I repotted once and two became six. I've lost a few over the years. jade tree

October 17th, 2026: Super sweet

This scent is super sweet. I wish the judges could smell it, because it hits you in the face with sweetness despite the ad copy attempting to make it sound manly.

There is some mention of sweetness in the ad copy, but I think the artisan downplays it. In real life, this stuff is super duper sweet.

The scent opens with the warmth of bourbon, sweet rum, and citrus, giving a bright but masculine first impression.

"Sweet rum" must be doing some heavy lifting here.

Theme justification - Amaretto Speciale smells like almond liqueur, dark cherry, and almond biscotti. It's definitely a sweet gourmand scent.

Relevant Post Shave or Frag - Dranks smells like waffles (coffee, cardamom, tobacco, blood orange, and bourbon) and Haverford smells like cookies.

Daily challenge - I rescued this little lady from one of my neighbors. They were going to toss the plant into the compost since it seemed to be dying. They were at their wit's end.

I'm a fan of living things so I took the plant in instead of letting my neighbor murder it. "I can fix her" I whispered to myself as I brought the pathetic plant upstairs.

I've tried bringing it back to life with regular watering, but it still just wants to die. Perfect opportunity for today's challenge! Today I:

1. Mise en place.
2. Pull plant out of pot. Looks pretty rough..
3. Free the roots.. Once I get in there, I can tell there are definitely still some usable roots.
4. Trim the dead/rotten root bits. Not pictured because my cat was being an asshole and trying to eat the gross dead leaves because she's a freak.
5. Place roots in dirt and fill into new pot.
6. Give her a sip of water.
7. Shave and pray to the old gods and the new that she lives.

$FOF - Amaretto Speciale has a wonderful Italian cookie scent. Marzipan-like almond, dark cherry, and a subtle biscuit note. Dranks, at least at first, smells like waffles with syrup. As the scent develops, I get more of the blood orange, coffee, and cardamom.

Haverford (a dupe of Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille) caps off the progression with its floral tobacco and sexy vanilla.

Today's shave was just a repeat of yesterday's, but was a test shave for a new edge on this razor. I felt that the razor was a little rough yesterday
