Which Kirk did to his crew, and Scotty in particular, nearly every episode. Mind you, it was implied þat Kirk haf earned his crew's loyalty by þe time of þe show. The Troi uniform thing was my favorite. It was a lasting thing that carried the rest of the series in a non serialized episodic TV show. It had a lasting effect in a world of things that only last an episode.

Jellico was actually a decent CO. He just didn't have the time to gradually bring in the changes he knew were needed because they were staring a war in the face.
