It's possible to both be very progressive and also think the term cultural appropriation is generally misused to the point of being useless/meaningless & also cringe at race based humor. |

It's possible to both be very progressive and also think the term cultural appropriation is generally misused to the point of being useless/meaningless & also cringe at race based humor.
Generally misused doesn't mean its not a meaningful pattern of harm. Loosing the ability to talk about that pattern of harm isnt a good thing, the term is useful even if people misuse it |

I’ve probably seen 500 instances of accusations of appropriation and I’ve seen maybe 4-5 of that were were actually real appropriation and real harm. It’s an internet buzzword. The pattern is real but the internet zeitgeist around it is rage bait BS. |
