Why aren't people using openstreetmaps? Why are they so dead set in contributing to closed data?

Most people don’t know about osm. Also it’s not doing itself any favors with the completely fragmented ecosystem. Also, CoMaps is so much better than Mapquest it’s not even funny.

Mapquest directions are so horrendous it took me literally twenty miles away from the location it was supposed to and stopped me in the middle of an empty field and said I was there.

Like, getting the wrong location is one thing, there’s plenty of places with the same names different cities, but this was for an apartment building and it dumped me at an empty field in the middle of a state park……. There’s no apartments there.

I don't know why, either. I make it a point to put as many surveillance cameras on OSM as I can.

Because I need live traffic data because My city can't seem to handle planning construction properly. Random lanes and exits get closed, accidents occur, my commute route gets gridlocked a few times a week.

I'd love to see comaps but it's DOGSHIT SLOW on Android auto to the point of being unusable. I give it a shot every once in a while to see if am update has fixed that but nothing yet.

When is it slow? I only use CoMaps for a long time now. Pixel 7 now, Galaxy s22 before.

Constantly but I just tried MapQuest too and it is also slow. It has to be my cars head unit
