This isn't a 'perfect storm' which suggests a chance alignment of multiple variables that results in an unexpected outcome. Everyone with even half a brain knew exactly what was going to happen as Trump implemented his policies and raped the USA. This is exactly what he wanted and what over half of the voters voted for. Quit being apologetic.

I really don't think they wanted to blow the economy up right before the election. I think they actually thought this would be easy.

Also, it literally wasn't over half of voters. He got 49.9% of the vote lol

it literally wasn’t over half of voters. He got 49.9% of the vote

I should have been more specific. Trump received 49.8% of the nationwide popular vote in the 2024 presidential election, compared with Harris’s 48.3%. So only 98.1% of the votes actually mattered... that 1.9% of 'other' voters might as well have stayed home and masturbated. So 1/2 of the votes that actually mattered would be 49.05% which Trump exceeded while Harris fell well short.

I really don’t think they wanted to blow the economy up right before the election.

Do you think Trump actually gives a fuck? He's building a ballroom, an arc, a golf course, and tearing down the Kennedy Center so he can remake it in his name. Do you really think he has any intention of leaving office regardless of the economy or what the voters want?

Trump isn't doing any of this because it's good for the United States or because it will please the voters. He's doing it to enrich himself and to aide Putin. His corruption and treason are both right out in the open.

The "other" voters are literally the reason Trump doesn't have a majority. If they stayed home, Trump would have more than 50% of the vote. It's actually really useful to be able to rub the fact that the government is undemocratic in people's faces because it agitates and motivates them towards other forms of politics, like the general strike we saw in Minnesota.

But things are quiet now because people still believe in elections and think they can just vote this problem away in the midterms.

Do you think Trump actually gives a fuck?

I think he doesn't want Democrats to win the midterms, because they'll be annoying. Anyone who expects Democrats to swoop in and fix all of the shit that Trump has broken is delusional, of course. They won't try to impeach him or probably even prosecute him for his crimes, because they're worthless worms. All they'll do is whine and be on TV all the time.

But Trump cares a lot about what's on TV, as much as he cares about being able to scam the country and do crimes.

Is he going to try and rig the midterms? Maybe, but I think that would be another strategic mistake on par with starting a war with Iran. As I said, things are quiet now because people think the midterms will fix everything. If Trump (the guy who has never won a majority and is broadly hated) takes that away the country would become ungovernable. I think he could have gotten away with it if he hadn't started this war with Iran, but if there's one thing yankees will never forgive it's high fuel prices. He's toast.

He's also old and hates exercise. He could literally die any moment, and then one of the other unpopular and uncharismatic losers would inherit his unwinnable war and unpopular policies and poor economy. You think Just Dance Vance can inherit MAGA?
