Damn... I was really waiting for all those great Microsoft games too?

I almost feel like Starfield was vibe coded. Copypasta planets and buildings, potato faced NPCs... it's just a mess.

And yet, even after dumping 700+ hours into it, beating it ten times (IYKYK), and doing everything when I had GamePass, I just paid $30 for it on sale. What can I say? The shooting is fun. The game is still hot garbage, but it's that same kinda fun as Fallout 4, but your save doesn't shit the bed after 30 hours. I don't know why they can't fix Fallout, but Starfield doesn't have the same problem. It just has other problems. Like how "perfect dad" Sam hates when you suggest his daughter get to spend an evening with her grandfather while you and him go raid a dungeon. Or when all your companions turn on you when you kill certain erroneously-flagged bad guys — they may have fixed this. I really hope they did, because I love stealing ships.

But nah, really, I'm an Xbox Insider, and they showed me this thing, it's like a Choose Your Own Adventure game, but it's in Edge, and the whole thing is vibe coded. It's stupid as hell. I played along for a few turns because I was getting credits, I think, but it just got dumber and dumber. You can even type your own responses, and if I had a keyboard hooked up (again, to my Xbox) I absolutely would have put some savage shit in there about fuck AI and all that.

Windows and Linux are going all-in on AI. Apple probably is too, but they haven't said they are and their stuff is closed source. You'll know if Siri starts writing macOS when Macs just stop working. Forget the marketing, Siri is still bad. Apple's AI is not good and it never was. If they vibe code it, they won't use their own AI to do so.
