There’s a big difference between getting news from TikTok and getting all one’s news from TikTok.

Even then, every major media organization is also on TikTok. There’s likewise a big difference between getting news on TikTok from credentialed journalists and getting news from random influencers.

The stats as reported don’t go into enough detail to help form an informed opinion on whether there’s a problem here.

I get plenty of news on TikTok, I don’t see a problem. If I hear something on there, I quickly look it up and verify it. The problem isn’t “these damn stupid kids and their social media”, the problem is media literacy combined with major journalistic outlets obliterating their own credibility.
