This might be true for indie devs, but none of the indie games I’ve ever seen popular interest in do pre-orders. They all do early access now. It only seems to be the AAA studios collecting on free hype money to take an early dip on profits. |

I pre-ordered digital games once or twice to pre-download it and start playing as soon as it's released, instead of waiting another day to finish downloading. |
