They look like what I understand womens "boyshorts" to be but what is the male version? Is it Spandex^TM^?

My bicycle chamois fit like that. Though they have big riding pads that make them not too comfy to walk around in. You can probably get bicycle shorts in a men's size without the chamois pads. Or, just buy "boyshorts" in a size that fits you.
