It's hard to say. I never thought in a million years so many republicans of all levels, would bend the knee so fast.
I remember GHW Bush's campaign co-opting "family values". In hindsight, this has been a long time coming. |

Not just the pool. We also named a Naval Comms Station after him. Never been sure whether this combo of memorials was down to our culture's perverse sense of humour, or just pragmatic future-proofing. |

Vespucci's legacy is better than being named after Columbus, who sucked a great deal. |

America isn't named after Columbus. A German cartographer in the 1500 named America as such to honer Amerigo Vespucci who originally "discovered" the new world. So it kind of is Vespucci's legacy that named it ? |

Totally unrelated: toddlers test adults boundaries. Once the adult give up on a boundary, that is a given and they would put a tantrum if they donāt keep in getting their way. What itās worse is that they will move to the next boundary and repeat the same. In general I would say for toddler is better to set clear and firm boundaries so that a lot of tantrum and screaming are saved. But what was the article about, again? |

A map can have different names for the same thing depending on the country. Like baltic sea is "Ostsee" in german. Or the Atlantic sea is Atlantischer Ozean. This would really only be a translation entry. |

Well, he didnāt rename Lake Superior; heāll probably call the Pacific āSuperior Oceanā and miss the fact that this means the one bit will be America and the other bit Superior.
Canada should agree to name a Great Lake after Trump, and invite him to a big, gaudy ceremony to rename it to "Lake Inferior". |

"Better" is a strong term for a slave-owning colonizer. "Less awful" is more accurate |

There's this, lusting over Republican candidate asses, and bragging about finding a giraffe in a kid's drawing.
Flexing on the world, for no gain, does show how cowardly and sycophantic that world is and continues to be. It's still late stage empire behaviour and collapse acceleration. |

AFAIK Columbus was awful, even accounting for the people of his time. I don't know anything about Vespucci though. |

Then it would be a geographical name change across dialects/variants of the same language. Also, most people who aren't from Canada, UK or Australia choose "English (US)" because it's usually the first option. Most people don't think this far but also because the writing shortenings ("colour" > "color") make labels slightly smaller and are easier to type. |

I suggest it not be a great lake; we can tell him to make it great. Iāve got the perfect suggestion for āLake Inferiorā - itās a currently unnamed lake below the Crypt Lake trail in Waterton Lakes National Park in Alberta. |
