He made the wrong life choices in supporting a parasitic organisation.

I can't separate this fact from his work as an actor. Scientology uses him as a poster boy to lure people in. Other actors in this situation distanced themselves from Scientology. He didn't.

By every account I've ever heard, he's also just a great dude.

It's really difficult to square his scientology with him being like the nicest, most generous actor alive... But I dunno, I've known some very nice Christians too so I guess anything is possible.

For me it is about what he does while being charming. This makes it difficult for me to appreciate his work. He surely is a great actor.

It's part of Scientologys public relations strategy to adorn themselves with VIPs. They did it since before the word influencer was coined. If someone plays along with this, he is part of the problem in my eyes.

But that's just my opinion based on the stories I heard from former members, journalists and experts on sects. Everyone needs to find his/ her own. ;)
