Former diplomat Mark Smith, who resigned in August 2024 over arms exports to Israel, said his requests for an explanation had been met with instructions to delete emails and stop questioning the policy.

Whilst I know personally they are socially aware (surprising I know for a copper) these comments usually illicit distinct silence. Obviously a level of professionalism.

But I've made it known, I would rather be arrested, tried, and even imprisoned, than to be silent.
