That word "we" is doing a lot of heavy lifting.

I think the reality of the situation is the global north will be far less affected by climate change than other areas, and in some cases, it may even increase farming yields. So the western capitalists are incentivized to do nothing, and love that the rest of the world will be reliant upon them for food.

Actually, the opposite might be true. The global north is where there is the biggest difference in temperature from the global peak, and that creates powerful energy gradients. You have a mix of hot air from the equator meeting cold air from the poles, and that's what produces a lot of dramatic atmospheric effects. On top of that, the plant and animal life in the global north is not adapted to heat either. So, on top of massive disasters like floods, hurricanes, and droughts, there's also a possibility of a complete ecosystem collapse. We can already see signs of this happening with massive fires across the US and Canada every year, along with many species of birds and insects starting to disappear.

Meanwhile, places where temperature is already close to the global maximum will not see these kinds of dramatic changes. There will still be problems, but they might end up being more manageable in the end.

I don't think the capitalists care so much about the forest fires, they want to deforest the area for agriculture. Again, look at growing season forecasts. In Canada and most of Europe the growing season goes up. Sure, there are heat events, but that doesn't matter to the capitalists who can sell solutions to that. Look at immigration numbers to the American south, clearly people don't care much about the heat. In most of these areas in the imperial core drought isn't even a big concern and can be supplemented with desalination. They will sell the solutions to these problems and it will be great for green imperialism.

Here in Germany, we're supposed to get +4°C by 2100, whereas globally we're on track for just +2.8°C. Our reigning government is still dismantling our solar industry.

Yeah, they're just more fascist and want to accelerate the global warming for their own benefit

It's possible that these people are completely stupid of course, but it should be obvious that unstable climate leads to social unrest. And the power capitalists wield is derived from the social contract that allows them to be capitalists in the first place.
