Elina Xenophontos is an international law specialist. She lives in Cyprus. She spoke about Israeli influence on the island. She said there is massive influx of Israeli citizens buying land. And there is huge integration between Cyprus government and Israel.

They signed a defense pact with Greece and Israel. People call it the NATO of Eastern Mediterranean. The pact targets Turkey and helps Israel spy on Palestine and Lebanon. Cyprus landscape is similar to Lebanon. So Israel uses it for military drills.

She said Israel is becoming main water supplier to Cyprus. They use water to take control. Israelis are building exclusive areas near her location. They have synagogues and schools. And they have massive security. Local Cypriots cant enter these areas. She compared this to what happened in Palestine.

She said Israel claims Hamas is in North Cyprus. This is not true. They use this excuse to push against Turkey because Turkey is getting too powerful. A poll found 83 percent of young Cypriots are unhappy with relations with Israel. Source: Wally Rashid interview.
