Please post the text. Some of us have secured OSs/browsers through VPN and the captcha process is annoying. A majority of Americans have low-quality jobs![]
Illustration: Aïda Amer/Axios Only about four in 10 American workers say that they have a decent job, finds a new survey on job quality from Gallup out Thursday. Why it matters: Bad jobs aren't just a misery for employees — for companies, they're linked to costly turnover and higher health care expenses. Zoom in: Gallup defines a quality job as one that meets minimum standards across a few dimensions: fair pay and benefits; a safe and respectful workplace free from harassment and discrimination; and a predictable schedule.
By the numbers: This year, 41% of workers meet Gallup's standards for a quality job, unchanged from 2025.
The big picture: This is the second year Gallup has released its American Job Quality study and it comes at a turbulent time for workers.
Between the lines: This is partly an AI issue.
The bottom line: Most Americans are working in low-quality jobs — and those with a good job worry about AI taking it away. |

I put a dummy email and apparently they don't have you confirm, but it's definitely annoying anyway. |

People often don’t do that [edit: post the entire article like you did] because it can be considered illegal in many countries in to do so (depending on the format). |

Oh, yes, I think it just depends how much legal attention a system has gotten. Some mods don't allow it. |

Well, the mods don’t know where you are posting from. As far as regional legal compliance, I have noticed it highly depends on where the particular instance that the community is hosted on happens to be hosted. Feddit.de - for example - has a bunch of sitewide rules that apply to the instance due to the fact that it is hosted in Germany. |

I’d rather the real website be linked so I can easily open it in Apple News (which I pay for). And the archive pages have captchas that don’t work on VPN. But regardless, it shouldn’t be the job of the poster to satisfy everyone’s little requirement: use extensions or whatever is available on your platform. Why is it the job of the person posting to meet your specific preferences? |

I'm so happy you have the privilege and are concerned about those who don't. |

Are you fucking joking? Look at me the millionaire to afford Apple’s ~$10 per month. Get over yourself. The actual point was that you should configure your device to open it however you’d like whether that’s opening in Apple News or redirecting to an archive website instead of bitching about people not linking to (worse) archival websites known for VPN blocking and launching DoS attacks. |

Serious question: do you think everyone can do that? Edit: that site is not worse. It's never increased my traffic, never causes adverse effects. |

In the past job I had, I would see this all the time. I'd go in for doing a repair charging $150 + $100 an hour, free beer and food to take home. But the weird part is I would just walk into the kitchen shoot the shit with the owner, set up and then ask staff for help. And everyone was oddly compliant, I mean I would be extremely polite but it was awkward how after them seeing me talk with the owners that I got some sort of authority over people. |

It says more about the system of oppression. Even Ford, an icon in capitalistic exploitation, noticed that it was cheaper for him to have workers treated better rather than have shit tired underpaid workers who made mistakes and job hopped. But the ego of capitalists and rise of short term financial gain have pushed oppression of workers forward for decades, against the ruling class' own interest. |

Yes exactly. When people say "cruelty is the point" it's for the people who think efficiency is the point and cruelty is the method. Efficiency is just the smokescreen to get you to accept the cruelty. |

Yes, I feel like the thought is, "I can make peopel's lives worse and it'll only cost me $1,000/employee/year? It's absolutely worth it to break their spirit!" Of course, Ford had commies and bomb throwing anarchists to deal with. Hmm. |
