There is this thing in me that at some point in my life I want to try veganism and practice it. And yet somehow I can't even go fully vegetarian.

I was born vegetarian and started eating meat as an adult, now looking at my lifestyle (Eat meat occasionally, but do eat eggs and consume dairy) I feel like thats a good enough contribution for the planet and there is no inhert inherent need to go vegan.

PS: Please do not share articles that is difficult to digest, I am just trying to have a casual conversation

I did it in stages. Not intentionally but it is effectively how it happened. I had a strong acid trip and ate chicken alfredo; thought about it too hard. Decided I wouldn't ever eat poultry again. I didn't but I continued to eat other animals. The contradiction ate at me. It made me think about what I was eating and what it took to get that flesh on my plate. I grew very uncomfortable with it and eventually stopped eating all animals. This process took 3 years and had nothing to do with an ideological interest in veganism until the very end. I think practising that control over my eating in the beginning made the following steps a lot easier. A lot of vegans are critical of this method because it allows one to continue engaging in animal exploitation but for me it worked and I think it would help a lot of people make those changes.

Try it, pick an animal and decide to never eat it again. Do it today and enforce your behavior. Practice discipline.
