“The Korean engines are falling apart like a Christmas tree on Epiphany. (…) What is especially worrying is the overheating of the engines and cases of complete seizure of the power units,” wrote Wolski.

If I remember correctly from prior reading, Poland was picking up the K2s with the idea of a South Korea-Poland partnership with the long-term intent of moving into the tank manufacturing business.

“Our collaboration with Bumar-Łabędy is the foundation of the K2PL program, enabling the transfer of advanced technologies and the development of modern production capabilities in Poland,” said Yong-bae Lee, president and CEO of Hyundai Rotem.

“Through this partnership, we are not only delivering state-of-the-art tanks but also building long-term industrial competencies…[and] strengthening Poland’s defence capabilities while developing a lasting Polish-Korean industrial partnership,” he added.

I'd imagine that modifying them to add more cooling capacity might fall under that manufacturing umbrella.
