I am asking for help from this community. Is anyone here aware of privacy respecting alternatives to products like Inito or Mira? You can use the article as a example of what these products are/do.

Is anyone in the community aware of any local, offline, or self-hosted alternatives to products like these?

I was reading the privacy agreements on both and both collect and sell data. Inito seems better but it still says it will use collected metadata to sell targeted personalized ads.

The article says the devices and apps reviewed are already free, no cloud or subscription. And it sounds like you don't need the app to use the first device at all.

I'm just more concerned that the app actually sends data out to a 3rd party and uses it for marketing and targeted ads.

You are right though no subscription, but that means the company makes money on the metadata collected as well as the hardware sales.

I have been looking for something that's more privacy oriented and self-hosted in that data is only stored locally on the home network or phone.
