Is anyone in the community aware of any local, offline, or self-hosted alternatives to products like these? I was reading the privacy agreements on both and both collect and sell data. Inito seems better but it still says it will use collected metadata to sell targeted personalized ads. |

The article says the devices and apps reviewed are already free, no cloud or subscription. And it sounds like you don't need the app to use the first device at all. |

I'm just more concerned that the app actually sends data out to a 3rd party and uses it for marketing and targeted ads. You are right though no subscription, but that means the company makes money on the metadata collected as well as the hardware sales. I have been looking for something that's more privacy oriented and self-hosted in that data is only stored locally on the home network or phone. |

Probably because it seems a bit like a spam post directing people to the post. I'd suggest to include at least one or two sentences on what they are supposed to do rather than sending people to an article just to know what you're asking about. |

I don't know what help you're asking for, and I don't want to click a random link to find out. Help people help you. Describe what you need help with within the post. |

Have you seen any similar products like the two on the article I linked too? Something that's fully local and privacy respecting or preferably self-hosted. The article is not mine (not sure why some people think so), but something that I linked to give people a sense of what devices I am looking for. |

I didn't follow the link, and I'd rather not because I still don't know what it's about. I'm happy to help, but you must meet people half way. |

Just mentioning the words "fertility monitor" in the post (or these comments) would probably have helped. I (and I assume those who downvoted) have never heared of the brand names in the article and do not even know what broad category of devices you were talking about. |

No need to click the link, I justed added it so people that are not aware of what Inito or Mira can get a sense. Anyways what I am looking for is a complete local alternative to Inito or Mira. These are fertility monitors that track a few different items (the article gets into it a bit better then I can explain my self). I have been searching online for different monitors but honestly it looks like nothing exists, at least in the North American market that comes close what these two monitors offer. I was really hoping that the people here in this community would be willing to help out like I myself occasionally do. Obviously not everyone knows every product out there, but maybe there is one or two of us on here that might know of something or point me in a direction. Like stated before my biggest concern is the two fertility monitors that I found here send their data to the cloud, and their policies say this information can be used for target ads. This is a huge red flag for me. |

Understood. Wife and I went through this (now 20-ish years ago). We ended up adopting, but stuff like this in the USA is quite heavily political unfortunately. You mentioned North America, but I'm not sure how Canada and Mexico see this stuff. I wish you much luck going forward, and encourage you to DM me if you're curious about adoption. Best to you! |

I can. At first glance this post has nothing of useful information. Simply two brands and "is it secure". No explanation of what they are, what secure means in this context, nothing. You don't even say what the products do or what you would use them for. For all I know it could be a paper weight. And I'm certainly not going to click on a random link. You've now provided some context within the comments. You should think about adding it to the main post. As for advice, have you looked into HA to see if they have integrations? |
