cloning doesnt imply genetic modification. if anything it implies a lack of genetic modification because a clone is a genetic copy.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but all potatoes are clones if they come from a planted sprouted potato, no?

As long as they aren’t from seed, all the potats on a plant should be genetically identical to the original one.

I would guess so, in the same way as granny smith apples are all cuttings from the original tree, if understand how apple trees work.

Interesting fact, there's small mutations all the time, to the point that our own body has regions with the same small, harmless mutations, and other regions with other small, harmless mutations.
