A newly fledged great horned owl stares out into its exciting new surroundings after leaving the nest, its bright, curious eyes taking in every detail of its new world. When it grows up, it will be an apex predator, ruling the night skies with its sharp talons and piercing gaze. Due to a lack of sense of smell, it will also become one of the few predators able to take down skunks.
