I was wondering if any communities exist that are entirely dedicated to people showing off stuff they put together. Either highly custom desktops, or cool automations, or a specific security setup. Stuff like this post: https://lemmy.ml/post/54225017

I know we can post them here, but feel like it would be a cool thing to have a dedicated comm for.

is it like installing linux on weird things? like the ps2 version of linux? or more like cool rices?

All of that stuff. Basically anything someone does with Linux that is cool and they want to show off.

i think this is the closest one. https://lemmy.ml/c/linuxdesktopporn

you could create one maybe.

!unixporn@lemmy.sdf.org

!unixsocks@lemmy.blahaj.zone

I see none of these are very active. I wonder why that is? Maybe if we made one that was very permissive more people would post there? Like a "TechShowcase" one. Since people on Lemmy are less populated and we'd need it to be open to more people so it doesn't die. Just a comm for anyone who wants to show off some cool thing they did or found online.
