From Harold Wilion

Well, the night started off slowly. The second photo was how we initially found him, which is often the case. Not the best shots if you like them out in the open, and it's a wonder I could even find him. The third shot was after he moved into position to take off which he did seconds later. We were able to track him down to his first perch which didn't do it for me. And then the chase was on.

After climbing several hills and walking all over the place trying to follow his begging call, something caught my eye at the top of a tree, far, far in the distance. I started looking with my binoculars and couldn't find him because of all the foreground foliage. But after crouching down lower so I could see through a hole in the foliage, I found him at the very top of a tree about 250' away, resulting in one of the furthest shot I've taken this season. I was lucky enough to get the first shot with a quick glance from him that lasted a fraction of a second. Luckily, it was bright enough up there that I was able to use an ISO of 5000 with a 1/30 sec shutter because it was so dark in the wooded area below, my ISO would have been 25,000 had he been there and with this amount of crop it would have been total mush.

Long Range Hooting*

"Oh, the terrorists! They flew that way. It was a fly-by hootting. I'll get them, sir."
