Pure Data (Pd) 0.57 is inbound, bringing new features and improvements to this enduring free software for sound tinkering. The update includes new objects for signal information, lists, and more, along with an improved user experience. Notable additions include the [siginfo~] object for querying signal info, new 'snake' objects for audio manipulation, and enhancements to [receive], [pointer], and other objects. The update also brings configurable keyboard shortcuts and a rescan MIDI device list button. Pd 0.57 is currently in test builds and can be downloaded from Miller Puckette's website. The update is compatible with Pd-based tools like libpd and plugdata.
