I remember Cory Doctorow saying something about how it sounds pretty impressive that you were working for the God Company and then you resigned in protest because it was wrong to create a god.

I’m scared because it’s functional enough for bad actors to carry out massive attacks on democracy or cybersecurity. And even if we stop LLM development right this second, the Pandora’s box is already opened.

My real-world life is already getting smashed to pieces by people in full-blown psychosis and delusion. A happy fantasy for them is preferable to reality now. I only recently started to accept that critical thinking for most people is already gone, and my peers are now functionally brain damaged. My boss now refuses to read beyond the second sentence of a Gemini summary, and can't hold a conversation without sounding clinically insane- like he's reciting some kind of insane "word salad". My customers don't listen to reason or advice because "Claude told me _________" and immediately ignore any advice or recommendation.

Let it all burn. I don't know what could snap anyone out of the delusion and I no longer care. We deserve this.
