Do the cleaning staff typically know the patirnts’ conditions and other medical details? I suppose they can read the charts on the walls. Is that a hipaa violation? Or maybe they also have some hipaa training / certification. This would make a good shitmovie premise, like Good Will Hunting meets House, where the best doctor in the hospital is actually a janitor. Maybe he reads patient charts and secretly treats them for the real disease the other doctors haven’t found. |

Housekeeping definitely meets patients, and sometimes knows what's going on with them based on seeing them and overhearing conversations. This is especially the case if someone is there an extended time. They are subject to and trained in HIPAA as hospital staff |

Charts aren't publicity visible, and never have been as long as I've been alive. That's mostly an invention of television, these days they're entirely electronic. Yes, it's a HIPAA violation, but it's possible this is outside the US. That of course assumes that a greentext is even remotely true, but it's obviously both fake and gay. (Not that there's anything wrong with that) |

I don't think they read the charts or anything, but in my experience having a few family members with long hospital stays, usually housekeeping gets an idea of who someone is and their general condition pretty quickly. |

Man if I went to the hospital to get cancer treatment in my city, even the damn birds would know I have cancer, the next day. |

I'm overweight and I would love to lose weight, but I have chronic illnesses with treatment that cause weight gain and difficulty losing weight. I have to be careful with exercise as well because I can overdo it and send myself into a pain flare up. My doctors told me that my weight isn't a huge issue, thankfully, and that it seems like I have a good bit of muscle under the fat from the exercise that I do do (I care for and ride horses like 3 days a week, sometimes more if I'm feeling up for it) I hate how I look, but knowing that I'm strong helps me feel a bit better about it. I say that I'm chubby-strong. It's always fun to see people surprised that I can haul around 50lb bags of feed like they're nothing. I'm also short, so the bags are like half my height lmao. |
