Uh true story.

As a redhead they say we are very tolerant of medication and often anesthesiologists need to know before they put us under (I’m bald, it’s not obvious). I was having surgery on my eye and they couldn’t keep me sedated enough to sleep and I kept waking up and telling the surgeon how weird things looks through the dye on my eye and as he moves things around for my cornea transplant.
Doc was just freaked that I was not only awake but carrying conversations with him and the anesthesiologist tells him that I’m awake but he gave me something to keep me from moving too much and then told me I needed to try to be quiet but for whatever reason I was just chatty. I remember most of the conversations had and the doctor was just surprised as he’d never experienced that before, only heard of it.

Last few surgeries the anesthesiologists would choose to lightly sedate, twilight or use a newer drug to knock me out (worked). But 20 years ago, that shit was crazy
