giant boilers

Came across three of these giant boilers, while trying to find the power to one of my sites. They were very impressive.

This post is for casual conversation if you don’t feel like making a post of your own.

I lived in a house a long time ago that had the baby-brother of these guys. It was a converted coal burning boiler (converted to “heating oil” ie diesel) from the 19 teens or 20s, about the size of a fridge, and I’m wondering if was the same brand, because it looked exactly the same as these, but smaller.

My insurance might already be gone, which would be just. Well. I've had so much anxiety we've wrapped around to either I am still or explode. Or both at the same time.

Have this picture of Twenty Piping Plovers in a Trench Coat, which is my leader in the game Nation States.

Except you will see I never managed to draw the twenty piping plovers, just the trench coat. (okay one piping plover)

It's fine. They're fine. They're taking a day off. I'm going to go explode now.

Being from the Midwest it blows my mind that people on the coast still use oil to heat their houses. I can't imagine how much that costs.

Yep. Still seeing tanks in use wherever natural gas isn't piped to directly and where it gets too cold for heat pumps. Oh and lots of wood burning stoves!

Diesel heat is actually cheaper than electric where I'm at and thats just with me using one of those small forced air diesel heaters.

Yep here in PA it’s expensive to convert your boiler to a heat pump.

This is a sewage plant?

Edit: sorry I assumed you were at client site (based on nothing), I didn't mean to ask you to identify your job.

But you can feel smug for me if I guessed right.

No, this in the basement of an old office building. Hopefully it will be renovated in to apartments.
