What's with some of the really judgemental comments towards some people going on a cruise? Like what would you rather people do for a holiday

There's a really big "blame the rich for everything" population here. You can kinda tell what political system they favour.

Why?

They deposit millions of pounds of shit and other waste into oceans.

They use so much fuel they led to this story.

They are floating petri dishes of disease outbreaks. There's even Netflix docs about it.

Wouldn't a roadtrip be similar environmental impact? A cruise ship transports large amounts of people

who shit in the water and give each other fecal-oral route diseases. I have idiot family members who like cruises and they've all been hospitalized for diseases like: Hepatitis, COVID, and the very popular Norovirus where you barf and shit yourself for three days.

Fun! all inclusive!

IIRC the fuel burned by those things is like the bottom of the barrel and is significantly worse for particles and stuff compared to more refined fuel used for car or trains for example

My heart bleeds for them. Anyway, what's everyone having for dinner?

Yesterdays Left-over pizza. Probably not a full meal but a bowl of oatmeal with yogurt and home-made jam for dessert will fix that.

and they just blow the exhaust into the water.

Many cruise lines have been caught dumping trash in the ocean illegally, or filling up landfills in small coastal towns.

I live near a cruise port and know a lot of people who have been on them and not had a problem.

Quite possibly, although cruises don't even cost that much if you compare them to other holiday options. Especially for what you get.

Was looking it up and if I drank more it would easily be worth it with the all inclusive drinks packages and cheaper than a lot of other "budget" holidays. But while I can happily drink over 5 pints on a rare occasion I don't really want to every day for a week.

Did they even say "Thank you !" to trump??

The whole premise of this ship’s voyage was for people to leave the US for duration of Trump’s presidency, so it’s basically a ship full of people who fucking hate him.

Local delicacy, basically boiled cabbage leaf wraps stuffed with rice and herbs and a bit of ground beef (optional). Sounds weird, tastes great if made well. Google "Λαχανοντολμάδες".

We have those in Bulgaria too, so fucking yummy

It's an interesting concept, for anyone who actually read the article, and a little commentary on the state of affairs plus what led people to adopt the idea of retirement on a cruise ship. It didn't sound like anyone was upset about it, just happy to have the experience.
It's too bad cruises themselves are not exactly great

Well… yes and no. The eastern border is the Mississippi River, after all, and river cruises are absolutely a thing.

What are you even talking about they're nowhere near each other

It is unclear how many were on board There were reportedly around 200 passengers on board They should have just read their own article to find the answers to their questions!

Not even the article can read the article because of the paywall.

Cambodia is one of the most amazing countries I've ever visited, so not a bad place to be stranded. It's also really cheap there. But fuck cruises, they are so insanely bad for the environment.
