RE: dice.camp/@valthonis/117518928Meanwhile I cackle with joy whenever I see a video of a foreigner suffering through “traditional” Icelandic food or go pale after ingesting a candy coated in ammonium chloride.Or when they video a waterfall go sideways in a storm all “wtf!”

@baldur First time I went to Iceland, I was determined to have an "authentic" experience and wanted to eat the fermented shark thing. I am eternally grateful to the waiter who said "you know that dish predates refrigeration, and no one actually chooses to eat it anymore, right?"I mean, I still ordered it, but added all of his recommendations and had a great meal.

@baldur the only one who suffers when I eat hákarl is my wife, who I miss dearly when she makes me sleep on the couch.

@whitneymcn That's solid piece of advice from the waiter 👍
