Kiinnostus = interest (noun).
A noun that refers to the feeling of interest or curiosity someone has.

Minulla on kiinnostus historiaan. = I have an interest in history.

Mielenkiintoinen = interesting (adjective).
An adjective used to describe something that causes interest.

*Kuulostaa mielenkiintoiselta! = Sounds interesting!
