After beating A20 + heart with Watcher a friend said I should try with a different class because it would be harder (they were right), so I tried it with Ironclad. I had a few runs where I got to final bosses / heart but still lost so I over-corrected and tried to pick more scaling, which just made me lose far more, far earlier into my runs.

So the lesson wasn't that I needed more scaling, it was that sometimes on A20 you just lose lol.
