For a while, I've been asking myslef. What is the shape of a soul? Before I break into another tirade about spirituality and "HoW iT aLl ReAlLy WoRkS" let me ask you a question. What part of you is the "you"? I was always aware of my body more than an average person, that's what lead me to studying medicine (NOT going to university, studying the field of medicine). And while I feel and am aware of my body, the body isn't really "me". The external body is just a fleshy tool meant for interacting with the world. The real "me" was always the pilot. And where does the body's pilot reside? Inside the head, in the brain. In what part of the brain? We don't know that. Maybe it's one specific neuron, maybe it's a "sum of all parts" thing. Despite that small uncertainty, science confirms that the consciousness is located within the brain. We could exchange any other part of our body and remain the same person, but the moment we switch brains, we switch souls. Now please bear with me, as I am about to make an Olympic level jump to conclusions. I propose that the shape of the human soul is similar to the shape of a sperm cell. The shape can also be compared to the nervous system. Big clump at the center/head and multiple tendrils coming out. This is just a philosophical thesis, not even a theory, as I have no evidence for this. Tell me what you think. Are you a spectral sperm? Let everyone know in the comments. :) |
