What is golf? Golf is a competetive sport in which you use a specially made "club" to git a specially made "ball" into a specially made hole. If you are wondering why I put those two words in quotes, that's because the golf club is a special tool designed for this very purpose, and not a regular club, and the golf ball is not actually a ball. It's not even a sphere. Terrible design. Terrible naming scheme. But whatever, this is not about the design of the tools. Many of you would not consider golf to be a sport, me included, but it does have all the characteristics of a competetive sport. You compete in a game of skill, with physical activity, and rules. Looks like a sport to me. Golf is the kind of sport you get into when you're too physically feeble to do an actual sport like running, soccer, swimming, or waterboarding, and too mentally feeble to get into a sport that requires you to sit down and use your brain, like chess, or even e-sports. I do not respect golf. I do not respect golfers. It's one of the most inefficient types of recreation. You need entire hectares of land that can't be used for anything else, you need precission made tools that are made for this purpose and aren't useful in any other way, and you need to hone a set of skills that will never be useful to you in everyday life. Compare this to chess. You can do so much with a chess board and chess pieces. You can play other games than chess, you can start a fire, there is so much potential. Now look at a golf club. What can this be used for? You can't even bash someone over the head with it without it bending or breaking. Terrible! Awful! No good at all! And then, there's the type of people who play golf. You have to understand, playing golf is not about playing golf. You get more points the less golf you play. You only get to hit the ball once, every couple of minutes (at best), and then you just go th where the ball fell. Riveting... Now, imagine what kind of person would enjoy this type of activity? Are you imagining that person? Good. Now go google some golf players. Now compare your imaginary golf person to an actual golf person. Do they match? If yes, you have a surprisingly good hold on reality. Good job. Anyway. All my homies hate golf. Peace out! |
