The most sci-fi thing about Sub Rosa is how a season 2 episode managed to time travel into season 7.

Season 7 was a dumping ground for older ideas to pad it out.

I love all the New Trek. It’s by no means perfect, but I absolutely love it. It resonates with me better than TOS ever did, for example.

TNG was great, as long as you ignored the first season and most of the last. I loved DS9 and Voyager back then, and like with TNG, I find it a bit challenging to watch these days: I struggle with all the sexism etc. permeating those series. I know it was crazy progressive back then, and we all needed to evolve as a society—yet, I still cringe at it whenever I see it, even while keeping an open mind about "how it was in the old days". Don’t get me wrong here, I truly respect the old series, but it does feel dated.

They attempted to rectify everything and everyone’s reputation through the new series like Picard, which I appreciate.

I still much prefer watching reruns of new trek over the old ones. Even though I did come back to older series from time to time.

You spend all your time learning to become a doctor, working in sickbay, but do they call you Beverly the doctor? No.
So you literally save the lives of your colleagues and lots of other people, do they then call you Beverly the life saver? No.
But you fuck ONE ghost and all of a sudden you're Beverly the ghost fucker.

Imagine your Captain invites you to some leisure time on the holo deck, and then you play ship crew. In the exact. same. rolls.

Maybe we can compromise on Dr. Bevley Crusher, Saver of lives and fucker of ghosts :^)

But what’s her incentive to save lives if she enjoys the failures just as much?

Well shes still incentivised to dave the lives of everyone.... except the men shes attracted to.

Hence the conflict of interest I’m referring to, she can’t help it.
