I shopped around for fuel this morning. I usually do but anyway. I paid $1.47 instead of $2.11 and saved $35. My bill was $82 so "fairly" close to half off. More than a third off anyway.

I haven't won millions on Lotto by the way so here I am still.

So, the Minelab GPZ 8000 with Z-set concentric toroidal coils and Echo Sonic Pro for clearer target identification.

$15k for the detector and the 17” coil or the package for 17k that includes two more coils.

DiaDeLosMuertos mentions lotto, either that or you’re a wealthy retiree. These will sell out.

Edit: sorry 18 inch coil.

The difference between the cost of petrol down there and up here is impressive. I never fill up down there, always make sure I have a full tank before I leave.

It’s at least 20c dearer.

What kinda timeframe before this thing makes its outlay back and turns profitable?

Depends on how good the operator is, and I suppose in sone regards their fortune.

A good operator would make this back in a month or two maybe. Maybe.

The reality is, the people buying these things are either dealers or cashed up anyway. The rest of us are hitting creeks with sluices.

If you go to the right place or you’re smart enough with a cheaper one you can still get good results.

Fascinating, that's more/faster than I would have assumed! Many people locally running gear of this level?

Yeah there’s a few around.

Yeah those that know how to use them, have the money to stay put on the goldfields for long enough can get rewarded pretty quickly with these.

Unfortunately the best stuff in this hobby is on Facebook, like a lot of things but there’s forums around. They’ll give you an idea of what people can find. Most of the serious prospectors are all using Minelab pulse induction detectors.

How did you learn this ? Did you learn this because you bought one ?

No sir, we drove past one in our superior BYD Seal, and the wife questioned why the driver had a phone holder mounted right in front of their face - like directly above the steering wheel - when they had a giant touchscreen displaying all the same information.

I said it's probably because they don't have a HUD like the Seal, and then I remembered seeing something about Tesla rolling or Car Play support "soon" (like everything else they promise lol) so we looked it up and it turns out they don't have a HUD, don't have Apple Car Play, and don't have Android Auto.

At least they have indicator stalks back again now I guess.
