I simply don't care. Is AI sentient? No. Also, even if it is, I don't care either way. Is there something after life? No. Also, even if there is, I don't care either way. I heard, in a YT video, someone ask "what makes the green wavelength green?" and it truly baffled me. First of all, nothing makes it green; It isn't green. We perceive it as green -- or rather, we perceive it, and we call the sensation of perceiving it "green". The light isn't any colour, it's some energy level or some wavelength or some frequency, however you prefer to describe it. Regardless of how you do describe it, these questions are just so meaningless. What does it matter? Sure, it's not totally unfun to consider some of this, I get that. It can be fun to do silly things! However, I think it's very important to acknowledge how silly this is! Is AI conscious... How silly of a question! Yet, people are taking it so weirdly seriously. It's so weird to me... Look, whether AI is conscious or not, it could do bad things. Computer viruses aren't conscious and they wreak havoc upon us! Even if AI is just fancy auto-correct, so what? If you give the auto-correct a gun and it learns to shoot it, it could shoot at you. It doesn't matter whether it's conscious!!! I DON'T CARE!!! Why don't we look at things in a more practical way? I think, partly, it's because humans think very highly of themselves. We are very concerned with our own perception, our own understanding of things, our own conditions and behaviours and definitions. We are species supremacists, and everything else is inferior. If something, somehow, manages to approach us in any capacity, especially when it comes to logic and reasoning (which we take such pride in), well then, that's notable, and therefore must be pondered endlessly! How ridiculous. We are so silly. In my view, I am just one more assortment of atoms. That's it. I respect everything! Is that bad? Should humans take precedence? Mind you, I have a degree of practicality to my life -- I will step on bugs and plants if they are in my way; I will fight off infections, whether I want to or not, really, and kill bacteria; And I will prioritise humans, at least some humans, to the detriment of other things. What can I say... I am only human. Still, to see people so self-interested... Is odd to me. Why don't we stick to the things that matter? Another thing that kind of baffles me is trans people. Or rather, transphobic people baffle me. Well, I suppose they both do confuse me, but transphobic people are much more confusing. I guess most of them are religious, and their dogma simply states that trans people are evil and bad, and so they don't think about it past that. That's that. But... I'm sure there are others. Others that just think it's bad because... Something? They must give reasons. Still, I have my reasons for not caring! Here's the best one: it affects nobody! Why would I care if anyone wears a skirt, or pants, or takes some random pill that changes their voice, or gets plastic surgery? I respect anyone's right to do those things. I simply don't care. Well, the plastic surgery thing does freak me out, but all sorts of surgeries freak me out a little. I just think it'd be better if people cared less, somehow. Indifference often has a negative connotation -- I think because it is associated with inaction; with letting evil go unpunished, and such -- but I don't think it should. It think it would do people much better to accept their place as just another silly arrangement of atoms. To enjoy their experience! Why such silly concerns... It does bother me. A bit of a hypocritical post, this time. I wore my corduroy pants, today. Very comfortable, by the way, not sure why I liked them so much, today. |
