My walk to the train station goes past a cafe where teens often hang out before school. This morning for some reason one of them decided to give me a fist bump on the way past. It was a very weird and awkward experience.

I can only guess that it might have been because I'm wearing a Hawaiian shirt?

On my walk from the ferry to my car the heavens opened and I got piss wet through. This was at 4:50 am so that was a great start to the day. I'd prefer a fist bump from a teenager.

I got so lucky with weather. No rain at all in my work at either end. But almost immediately after I sat down, I hear the rain absolutely break out in full force right outside the window.

Aaaah that's where you are. Do you know Kilkevan, Sexton ?
And yes as for the rain you do cop it severely up there at times.
Nice that the damn got cancelled too. Some beautiful and fertile land was going to go under.

Yeah I know most of the area now.

Yeah I’m pretty fond of the area. Kilkivan was an old gold mining town as well.

Gympie has a bit of a dome going for the storms, they either pass north or south and flog Goomboorian/Rainbow.

My ex wife's parents ( and grandparents before them ) had a 500 acre dairy farm up that way. One boundary was the Mary River. Shit place to spend Xmas day though. Hot, stinky, sweaty and full of flies due to the dairy being close enough to the house.

Not the Cochranes is it?

They made an absolute fortune out of that dam. Sold the land, leased it back, bought a real estate agency, made a killing, cried ‘poor dairy farmer’. Got all the land back for a song too I think.

Amazing piece of local grift it was.

No it isn't them. Poor bastards were pushing shit uphill all their lives. My ex n myself seperated in 2012. The oldies ended up selling but I know nothing about any figures involved.
