In short:

Maisie Harkin has been presented with her birth certificate after several unsuccessful attempts.

The 88-year-old Aboriginal woman was born on country in WA and was not given the certificate at birth.

What's next?

WA's attorney-general says the registry is working to reduce barriers for Aboriginal people getting primary identification.
