After years of dreaming, I'm finally starting to convert my basement into a home theater. The room is coming along nicely, but now I'm hitting the confusing part: choosing the right projector screen. I've already picked up a projector Valerion VisionMaster Pro 2 and now I'm diving into the world of ALR vs. ambient light rejection. My basement has no windows, so light control is perfect, but I still want the best contrast possible. I've been looking at a few options, and VIVIDSTORM keeps popping up in my searches, especially their tensioned screens. They seem to have a good balance of features and price compared to some of the more established (and expensive!) brands. Has anyone here built a theater in a totally dark room? Did you find an ALR screen was overkill, or does it still make a noticeable difference for contrast? Would love to hear your experiences before I pull the trigger. |
