These first two episodes are proving a really hard watch for me. I'm not a Trekkie in the least bit, so I'm not sure if that's the shortcoming, or if the series really does have a rocky start.

I guess I just remember it a little more interesting than this. However, it's likely I didn't start watching it as a kid until S02 or S03.
