Shake everything with ice, and serve in a glass with a chili flakes rim. The recipe originally mentioned tajin seasoning for the rim, but I didn't have any. I replaced it with chili flakes, which worked well with the mezcal, but didn't look as good! Overall it was good, the smoke flavor from the mezcal was not overpowering, while still making this a mezcal drink. |

I’m in favor. Typically one of these would have that disturbing worm salt and I’m glad it doesn’t. |

I love mezcal cocktails. I am not sure about this particular recipe. A few comments(based on my own preference)
Cheers! |

I love mezcal cocktails. I am not sure about this particular recipe. A few comments(based on my own preference) Orange juice is too watery for my taste, and doesn’t work with a margarita style drink. If you want the drink more orangey, use more triple sec and less syrup, or add some orange bitters. Shake well with ice and strain into a chilled margarita glass or an old fashioned glass on the ro...
The orange juice definitely made the drink lighter than a traditional margarita. I tried a mezcal margarita before (classic recipe with mezcal instead of the tequila), and it was way too smoky for me. If I find some reposado I will definitely try though! I was looking to try ancho reyes liquor, but I didn't find a place to buy it unfortunately. I do plan to try a margarita with chili pepper though. Thanks for the suggestions, I don't know much about tequila/mezcal, but it's a lot of fun to try it out :) |

I can recommend Olmeca Altos Reposado for an affordable reposado for mixing. D go hmm bed Don’t buy the regular Olmeca because it’s not very good. |

If you like this, I must recommend you a non alcoholic cocktail I like. 2 oz very strong coffee (cooled espresso or cold brew) 2 oz fresh orange juice 4 or 5 oz fizzy water. |

Sounds really good! I had orange juice and espresso shot before, but nice with the fizzy water to keep it refreshing. |

Naked and famous - shaken with ice served in martini glass with lime garnish. 1 part mezcal 1 part aperol 1 part yellow chartreuse (I've had trouble finding it lately) 1 part lime Sooo good.
Sounds intriguing. I used to have green chartreuse but only used it a couple times, it was quite intense. Never tried yellow. |
