Vonnegut wasn’t the first to make this basic argument. In The Brothers Karamazov there is a novella within the novel called “The Grand Inquisitor” in which Jesus returns during the Inquisition and is executed with the Inquisitor telling him “we don’t need or want you anymore.” |

How strange! The Master and Margarita has a ton of asides that amount to a novella that go back to Jesus and pontius pilate, etc too. Another Russian author |
