Most European banks require app approvals for many types of transactions. Not available on the web anymore. If my bank app won't work on it, I won't buy it. At least not yet. I'm considering a Fairphone next. |

Yeah, I did some comparisons and was thinking of real use cases. Jolla isn’t there (yet). I only really would like a high end camera on the fairphone, but I might go for it and get a seperate compact camera. |

There was a thread about this on their forum and from what I could see it should work with BankID in Sweden at least and the bank apps. But I agree, a phone that you can't access the bank with would be pretty bad. |

There's already more dumb phones than you can shake a stick at.... Here's a bunch by Nokia.
Dumbphones are the fucking devil. Nobody makes a good dumbphone. I bought 3 dumbphones and lived on it for years:
FUCK dumbphones. For the price, you can get an F-tier smartphone and put a custom ROM on it without Google. |

All I care is how open of a hardware and software platform it is. Being a European phone is not a plus to me. It's a neutral. Still leaning towards the Motorola GrapheneOS in the short term as a primary device and a side device PostmarketOS/Ubuntu Touch/Mobian for the long term |

I bought 3 dumbphones and lived on it for years: KaiOS, chinese spyware ad-riddled piece of shit that'll wake you up at 3 AM with a max volume notification to ask if you're SURE you don't want to play Sudoku RIGHT NOW A Nokia "feature phone" running their own Series OS or whatever. These are built with so little memory that, once ...
Which F-Tier smartphones allow you to load a custom ROM? I ask cause over the years I've had to buy "budget" models(sub $100) and they're usually:

I admit it's been a decade since I looked at dogwater smartphones. My current strategy, which I call the "I don't want to deal with this fucking problem anymore life is too short and the outdoors is full of beauty" strategy, is to get a flagship that has wide community support so I can drop minimal custom ROM and don't think about it for at least another 5 years. |
