The Crivit Carbon-Plated Trainers will go on sale in Lidl stores across Ireland starting Monday, March 9. The shoes will retail for €49.99, a price Lidl says is around 80 percent cheaper than many carbon-fiber running shoes currently on the market.

What I gather from the reviews of so-called "super shoes" that I've read, is that just stuffing a carbon plate in a shoe does not necessarily make it better, and can often make it worse if not done right.
