i wonder if anyone in the world knows, or rather if any intel agencies in the world keep track of, (or if these gangs themselves would actually have the best intelligence on), how many neighborhoods of the entire world happen to be controlled by local gangs? this stuff with "local gang tax". i wonder what the best source of intel on just how many and which streetcorners on the planet have this problem. i wonder who cares about solving it. i know our american system features cameras on every streetcorner, and more than just our cops use these cameras to assess whats going on. anyway, why dont we make it a worldwide goal to start policing the world well enough, and thoroughly enough, that we can actually stop every single instance of anyone trying to run a neighborhood-control-hustle, of just going around demanding "tax" from everyone or youll beat them and break their store. or, like i said otherwise, if we could replace all world religion with an equivalent belief thats actually practical and actually has some good things to it that actually "save the world", like, an insistence that every single person contributes to communal policing. such that, if someone reported that some other person had come into their store and threatened them... pretty soon every other person who lives in that neighborhood would be looking for that person, would find them, and would beat the absolute shit out of them for trying to turn their whole neighborhood gang-run.
